Salon Tactile ‒ Erika Hock
-For the exhibition, Hock has had roughly 100m of string curtain printed all at once according to her specifications, which she then used as the material starting point for these works. She combines various printed excerpts and samples motifs in layers, thus creating multilayered image-objects in the most literal sense.
The material’s fine, textile threads lend the whole installation a flowing, almost liquid quality, which challenges the viewer not only visually, but also haptically. Translucent light fixtures hang from the ceiling, further enhancing the animated atmosphere with subtle color gradients.
